Immigration law protesters rush field at Nats Park
Updated: August 15, 2010 - 09:38 pm
Four protesters ran onto the field Sunday during the fifth inning of a Washington Nationals baseball game against the Arizona Diamondbacks in Washington.
The protesters want commissioner Bud Selig to move the 2011 All-Star Game from Phoenix because of Arizona's new immigration legislation. Before the game, dozens of protesters marched and chanted near the centerfield gate.
Unlike a similar incident in Philadelphia, no Taser was necessary to stop the disruption. After leading security guards on a chase for a few minutes, two of the protesters were forcefully gathered. Two others jumped onto the field from the first base side while carrying a sign, but security guards quickly stopped them in right field.
