The senior 'sultan of swat'
September 15, 2010 - 01:12 pm
Stephen Strasburg – take note.
Despite being four times Strasburg's age and surviving two heart attacks, Jack Trovato, of Falls Church, Virginia, is still out on the baseball diamond, hitting balls, running the bases and catching grounders.
He's the second oldest player of the Northern Virginia Senior Softball leagues and he tells TBD's Sara Kenigsberg, it's the sport itself that keeps him feeling so young.
Northern Virginia Senior Softball is slow pitch softball for seniors. Membership's open to men over 50 and women over 40. There are three different leagues based around age and skill level. Seasons are running almost all year long.
