Moran, who represents Arlington, Alexandria, Falls Church and a portion of Fairfax County, said during an appearance on TBD's NewsTalk with Bruce DePuyt that sacrificing privacy for security purposes when boarding a plane is "something you just have to live with."

"I guess I'm just so old," the 65-year-old Moran said. "I could care less whether somebody feels me up or somebody sees what I look like without my clothes. You know, so what? I think it's something you just have to live with."

Anger over having to choose between an invasive patdown or a full-body image scan has rippled across the internet in the past few days after a 31-year-old software engineer in California recorded his exchange with TSA agents. The video went viral, and homeland security officials had to defend their actions during a congressional hearing Tuesday.

"There is going to be more attempted attacks," Moran said in defense of the screening. "And some day, there will be another successful attack. That's the reality we have to live with.

"You know, it there's intrusiveness, if it makes you shy or embarrassed or whatever, I'm sorry," Moran continued. "You just go with the flow. That's life in the 21st century. I don't have much sympathy for the privacy advocates on that."
