Gray to reappoint Police Chief Lanier, will bring back Ellerbe as fire chief

Sources tell ABC7 News that Mayor-elect Vincent Gray will make some major announcements Thursday regarding his public safety team.

Gray is expected to re-appointment Cathy Lanier as his police chief at 1:30 p.m. at the Reeves Center.

Gray is also expected to name Kenneth Ellerbe as his fire chief.

Ellerbee is a familiar face in D.C., having served as deputy fire chief.

He's currently the fire chief in Sarasota, Fla.
