Oscars 2011: Ryan Kearney takes cardboard Michelle Rhee to Sundance (photos, video)
Why did Waiting for "Superman" get shut out from Academy Award consideration yesterday? Was it because it championed charter schools without talking about the ones that are failing, ignored the role poverty plays in determining kids' educations, and got key figures wrong? That it's a documentary with a fake scene in it? That it decides charter schools are the answer to public education without considering other remedies?
Or maybe because it was boring? Kearney, currently reporting from the Sundance Film Festival, considers these possibilities — though he's bummed that TBD probably can't get back the $100 we spent on making the cardboard cutout of Rhee that appears with him — in this video. Don't miss the extended photo gallery of the pair's travels through Park City, either.
