“This has a gourmet kind of look to it. The tower effect,” Birchenall said of Ollie’s Trolley’s, one of the contestants.

Oillie’s’ burger, he said, surprised him most – he’d never even thought to try it and yet it nearly got first place.

“This is nice. Nice pickle on here,” Birchenall said of another contestant's burger.

Birchenall said he liked Elevation Burger’s grass-fed organic beef and praised Z burger too – especially for the hand-cut onion rings. But the one who won it all is the restaurant chain with more than 750 locations nationwide.

“I pick Five Guys,” Birchenall proclaimed.

He credits the fast, casual restaurant with consistently serving up a delicious, well-priced burger.

Birchenall said, “The beef flavor comes through and the toppings are good.”

It looks like we're in a great burger location in the D.C.-area and it certainly shows in the Five Guys.
