Locals angered by Egypt's president
February 10, 2011 - 09:38 pm
In northwest D.C., Egyptian-Americans and local supporters are raising money to send back to the country in crisis.
But what was supposed to be a celebratory fundraiser instead was filled with anger at Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, who announced Thursday that he wouldn't resign.
“He’s [Mubarak] insulting out intelligence,” said Dina Darwish, an Egyptian American. “Entire regime [needs] to step down.”
Sherif Mansoui, another Egyptian-American, agreed.
"It's very clear what Egyptians want,” he said.
