Redskins' Clinton Portis likely to be released

Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan indicated Feb. 25 that the team will let running back Clinton Portis test the free agency market this offseason, Pro Football Talk reports.
Shanahan told reporters at the NFL Scouting Combine that Portis' cap number is too high and that a release could happen in the next two to three days.
Portis was limited by injuries in 2010, rushing for only 227 yards in five games.
