Va. wildfires burn more than 4,500 acres

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Wildfires fanned by high winds have burned more than 4,500 acres across Virginia since Saturday.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that most of these fires have been contained or extinguished.
But other wildfires continue to burn on federal forest and park lands in western Virginia. As of Monday, more than 5,000 acres were burning on park lands. U.S. Forest Service spokesman Pete Irvine these fires could burn for several days.
According to state estimates, 45 structures have been damaged or destroyed since Saturday.
