'Virtual' tunnel to be created between Farragut North, West

Metro riders seeking to transfer lines between the Farragut North and Farragut West stations may soon be able to without being charged, the Washington Examiner reports.
Metro officials are planning on opening a "virtual" tunnel by this fall, connecting the Red Line with the Orange and Blue lines. Riders will still have to leave the stations, however, walking between the two, the Examiner reports.
An additional virtual tunnel could be added later between Gallery Place/Chinatown and Metro Center. The Farragut location will serve as a test case for whether the agency, according to the Washington Examiner.
