The D.C. Attorney General has conducted an internal investigation into the alleged mishandling of a $100,000 award made to McKinley Tech High School by AARP.

The District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) has conducted an internal investigation into issues related to the use of a $100,000 award made by AARP to McKinley Tech High School, and the fund established to administer this award. Information developed during this investigation suggests that these funds may have been mishandled. The District of Columbia Office of the Attorney General (OAG) has reviewed the matter, and is now referring the matter to the Office ofthe U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia for further investigation and appropriate action.
