Cancer treatment facility opens in Germantown
A new outpatient care facility for cancer patients has come to Germantown, Germantown Patch reports.
The facility, which is by Adventist HealthCare, opened last Friday and will offer outpatient radiation therapy using cone beam technology. Cone Beam technology generates images of a patient’s tumor in different angles before radiation treatment.
“The state-of-the-art equipment will allow our physicians to pinpoint and precisely target each patient’s tumor, sparing normal tissue from being impacted by the radiation," said Dr. Donald Bridges, a physician who will be working at the facility. This technology allows our patients to directly benefit from treatment using the latest advances in cancer treatment.”
This is the first facility in Germantown to offer radiation therapy, and it’s the second of its kind from Adventist HealthCare. There is a similar facility in Rockville.
A ribbon cutting for the facility will commence April 7.
