D.C. zoo's quiz challenges public to test smarts against curator
March 21, 2011 - 05:14 am
WASHINGTON (AP) - The Smithsonian's National Zoo is challenging the public to match wits with a curator as a way to raise money for the park.
A new online quiz allows participants to test their knowledge against the zoo's curator of enrichment and training. It's called "Are You Smarter Than a Curator?"
For every correct answer, the zoo's animal care program will earn 10 cents. Each quiz has the potential to generate 50 cents for the zoo. If 100,000 people participate, it could result in $50,000 for the zoo's animal care and conservation efforts.
A spokeswoman says the funds would come from the larger Smithsonian Institution fundraising office.
The quiz will be online through April 8.
