Developers to build on Southwest waterfront
March 10, 2011 - 08:36 pm
Developers in the District are placing their bets on the Southwest waterfront. On Thursday, they announced plans to build a $2 billion waterfront neighborhood there.
Planners are hoping the project will bring new life to the area.
After so much money was invested into the Nationals ball park and the surrounding neighborhood, there’s hope this development will be a sign of things to come in the Southwest.
Developers said the project will produce $40 million in tax revenue and bring 1,500 jobs to the District.
