GREENBELT, Md. (AP) - Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley will visit a Prince George's County middle school to promote reading.
O'Malley is scheduled to visit Greenbelt Middle School on Thursday to close out "Read Across Maryland" month. The school operates a "radical readers" program that challenges the whole school to read for 30 minutes a day for 30 days.
Meanwhile, Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown is scheduled to read to fifth-grade students at Garrett Heights Elementary/Middle School in Baltimore.
This is the third year the state has held a "Read Across Maryland" month.
