Montgomery County school bus driver fired after child porn arrest
March 25, 2011 - 02:02 pm
A Montgomery County school bus driver was arrested on Feb. 10 on child pornography charges, but was not fired until two weeks after he was detained, the Montgomery County Gazette reports.
33-year-old Charles H. Acker IV, of Walkersville, was the subject of a nearly year-long investigation. A police search of his mother's home in April 2010 led to the discovery of a hard drive with pornographic videos and images of children.
The school system was notified of Acker's arrest on Feb. 14 and he was suspended that day.
Parents were not notified of the arrest because no county schoolchildren were involved in the crime.
