New Wakefield H.S. construction to begin in July
Arlington County School Board members approved construction of a new Wakefield High School on Thursday, targeting July to begin construction and finishing the first phase by mid-2013, the Sun Gazette reports.
Under existing plans, construction would begin on July 1 and be built on the existing Wakefield campus, on the South George Mason Drive side at the ballfields.
Once construction on the $115 million school is complete, the older one will be torn down, the Sun Gazette reports.
