Noyes: Were high test scores too good to believe?
Seen as the example of a turnaround in D.C. Public Schools, Crosby S. Noyes Education Campus is coming under fire for its students' scores on standardized testes in recent years, USA Today reports.
USA Today took a closer look at Noyes, from 2006 to 2010 as test scores spiked and then dropped drastically. In 2006, only 10 percent of Noyes' students scored "proficient" or "advanced" in math on the standardized tests required by the federal No Child Left Behind law, in 2008, 58 percent achieved that level, according to USA Today.
Its proficiency rates rose at a much faster rate than the average for D.C. public schools and then, in 2010, scores dropped further than average among other District elementary schools, USA Today reports.
