Rushern Baker attempts to pay down debt with fundraiser
March 12, 2011 - 10:10 am
As Rushern Baker attempts to get Prince George's County's economic situation in order, he has also been doing the same for his own checkbook.
The Prince George's County Gazette says that Baker held a $125-per-plate dinner in Upper Marlboro on Thursday night as he tries to pay down some of his campaign debt.
The dinner was preceded by a $1,000-per-person VIP reception.
Baker's event drew several high ranking state officials, including Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.) and Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown.
His victorious run to the County Executive seat cost him upwards of $1.4 million.
