St. Patrick's Day generates mammoth amounts of greenbacks

At the risk of being pinched, the great many of us will be donning some sort of green gear on St. Patrick's Day.
The Washington Business Journal says that the holiday revelers' affinity for green gear means a sales bonanza.
The National Retail Federation says that $4.14 billion will be spent by consumers on products related to St. Patrick's Day.
The figure comes as the result of what the Federation calls the "2011 St. Patrick's Day Intentions and Actions" survey.
