Arlington earns 'Walk Friendly' award

Arlington is one of 11 communities across the nation to be named in the inaugural “Walk Friendly Communities” honors, the Sun Gazette reports.
The award was a joint initiative of the Federal Highway Administration, FedEx and the Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center. Arlington was one of four communities to earn the “Gold” award, the second highest level in the competition below “Platinum," which went to Seattle, according to the Sun Gazette.
“We’ll have to find out what Seattle did,” County Board Chairman Chris Zimmerman told the Sun Gazette.
