Dogs, cats rescued from W.Va., up for adoption in D.C.
April 15, 2011 - 08:21 am
Dogs and cats rescued Wednesday from an overcrowded home in West Virginia will soon be available for adoption in the District, WTOP reports.
The Washington Animal Rescue League is currently caring for 14 dogs and 6 cats rescued from a private home. Many of the animals are in good shape, but some were dirty and needed flea treatments, according to WTOP.
"They've never touched grass. They've never felt really, like a dog should feel," Gary Weitzman, CEO of the Washington Animal Rescue League told WTOP.
Some of the animals will be ready for adoption as soon as April 23, WTOP reports.
