Frederick County mail carriers to be relocated
April 6, 2011 - 09:12 am
FREDERICK, Md. (AP) - The U.S. Postal Service is relocating letter carriers in two post offices serving Frederick County to save money.
Carolyn Kline, postmaster of the post office in Keymar, says three letter carriers in Keymar will be relocated to Union Bridge on May 7. The sole letter carrier in Rocky Ridge will be relocated to Thurmont in late May or early June.
Kline says the changes will save money because trucks will haul mail to fewer post offices.
She says no service interruptions are expected as a result of the change, and the post offices in Keymar and Rocky Ridge will remain open for retail service.
