Naval Academy 'spice' controversy: Twelfth midshipman expelled

A twelfth midshipman from the U.S. Naval Academy has been expelled in connection with the drug controversy that has rocked the Annapolis campus, Navy Times reports.
The midshipman, a female cadet, was officially dismissed from the academy on Thursday. The previous 11 expulsions were all male students.
All 12 of the cadets kicked out of the academy were found to have been using 'spice,' a synthetic drug that replicates the effects of marijuana.
