Long story short

The new WJLA.com and TBD.com are coming soon

retweet

ABC7/WJLA-TV, NewsChannel 8 and TBD.com are launching a two-pronged online approach to covering news, traffic, weather, and much more in the growing Washington metro area.

The centerpiece of this approach is the relaunch of WJLA.com, the new digital home of Washington’s award-winning ABC affiliate, and the redesign of the all-local TBD.com.

WJLA.com

The new WJLA.com will be fueled by the region’s largest, most experienced, and most nimble TV news staff, including Leon Harris, Maureen Bunyan, Gordon Peterson, Alison Starling, Cynné Simpson, Doug Hill, Bob Ryan, Tim Brant and our first-on-the-scene reporters. From regional stories on crime, weather and transportation to in-depth looks at health and medicine to on-location features on big national and international stories, ABC7’s reporters deliver the news that Washington demands each day. Immediately upon arriving on the scene of a breaking story, ABC7’s reporters transmit photos, video and text directly to WJLA.com. The result is a dynamic site that stays way ahead of the competition in debuting and updating news stories that matter to area residents.

The Perfect Storm Team

ABC7’s award-winning, community-driven weather coverage will make its new home on WJLA.com. The always-improving site, which recently launched a new interactive Doppler Radar system, offers 24-7 forecasting by the area’s largest and most experienced team of meteorologists. And in severe weather events, the site lights up with alerts, photos, maps, and continuing live coverage from the Doug Hill and Bob Ryan Perfect Storm Team.

TBD.com

At TBD.com, we have listened to your feedback and will launch a redesigned site that makes it even easier to navigate our local news and lifestyle coverage. TBD.com combs through information from hundreds of news sources across the area, packaging it alongside a feast of original reporting on the area’s arts and entertainment scene, news, crime, sex and gender, groceries and transportation. By combining the unique reporting of its own journalists, the resources of the entire ABC7/NewsChannel 8 newsroom, the regional expertise of the TBD Community Network and an expertly filtered set of stories from other outlets, the site offers unmatched breadth and immediacy.
