O'Malley to speak at U.S.-Islamic forum
April 13, 2011 - 06:53 am
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Gov. Martin O'Malley is planning to speak at a high-level conference on U.S.-Islamic relations in Washington.
O'Malley is scheduled to address the U.S.-Islamic World Forum on Wednesday. He is the only governor on a long list of speakers dominated by U.S. and Islamic government leaders, including Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
O'Malley has long had close ties with Israeli leaders, including former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert who dined at the governor's mansion in 2007 after attending a Mideast peace summit in Annapolis. Last month, O'Malley played guitar with a Celtic-Israeli band at the Israeli Embassy in Washington.
