Sulaimon Brown eludes D.C. Council subpoenas

As WAMU reports, the D.C. Council has discovered yet another obstacle to investigating the hiring of Mayor Vince Gray: Sulaimon Brown.

The former mayoral candidate who's provided much political intrigue to the District over the past few months, and now proves himself as elusive and mysterious as ever.

First, Brown claimed that Gray's camp gave him money and promised him a position in the administration. He's also claimed Gray's people fabricated court documents. But, to be fair, Brown didn't just levy complaints against Vince Gray; he recently referred to TBD as "the worst."

But now, as the D.C. Council tries to sort out what's fact from what's fiction, it finds itself seemingly incapable of locating Brown. Some think he's trying to play some protracted game of hide-and-seek.

"If he's maintaining that he's not (hiding), let him come forward and we will hand it to him right here," Council member Mary Cheh told WAMU. "Let him come here and I'll give it to him right here.
