Tysons Corner gets ZIP code, postal service recognition
Tysons Corner has long struggled to forge an identity of its own, in a state of perpetual construction and, most of all, not being a town all its own.
The U.S. Postal Service, though, will now allow you to address mail to Tysons Corner, the Washington Post reports.
Fairfax County received approval from the USPS earlier this week to officially address the ZIP codes 22102 and 22182 as Tysons Corner. Before, those codes pertained to the city of McLean and the town of Vienna.
Official correspondence to those ZIP codes can now refer to the area as its commonly-used name.
The change affects over 20,000 mailing addresses.
Name changes, though, will not alleviate constant traffic issues, which came to a head once again this week.
