The robberies all took place in the morning, between April 11 and May 19, at four different banks: the Congressional Bank on Michael Faraday Drive, a Wachovia Bank on Dolley Madison Boulevard, a Cardinal Bank on Sunset Hills Road, and most recently, a United Bank on Chain Bridge Road.

“Details in the investigation that detectives have come across have led us to conclude that [all four robberies are] linked,” said Fairfax County police spokeswoman Lucy Caldwell.

The suspect, described as a black male, between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 250 pounds, carried a handgun and covered his face in all four robberies. In one robbery, he struck a bank employee.
