Celebration outside the White House: 'incredible scene'

As news spread Sunday night and early Monday morning that U.S. troops had killed Osama bin Laden, a crowd filled Lafayette Park and streets around the White House to celebrate.
People climbed trees, waved flags, sang patriotic songs, chanted "USA" and "Yes, we can!" The revelry continued long into the night.
People in the crowd and those watching on television shared their jubilation (and some disapproval of the celebration) on Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, YouTube and other social media. A sampling of the accounts of the late-night crowd, curated using Storify:
