Dulles-bound flight makes emergency landing
Report of an engine fire on an American Airlines flight from Dallas to D.C., made an emergency landing Sunday evening, reports the Associated Press.
Flight 1720 landed in Arkansas at 4:08 p.m., about 15 minutes after the pilot informed passengers of an emergency. The twin-engine MD 80 jet carried 136 passengers and five crew members–no injuries were reported. On last reports, no engine fire was found.
In a separate incident, engine problems on a Delta Airlines flight en route to Atlanta from Daytona Beach made an emergency landing at Orlando International Airport Sunday. The plane’s left engine had failed.
