Film Forward presents indie screenings around National Mall
For the last few months, Film Forward has taken 10 independent films around the world and will feature them tonight around the National Mall, the Washingtonian reports.
Film Forward is a joint initiative between the Sundance Institute and the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities, and it has had screenings in locations such as Nashville, Tunisia and China and all 10 filmmakers will present their films tonight.
“These films enhance cross-cultural understanding, and help us to embrace a shared humanity,” said Film Forward’s Keri Putnam.
“What we were looking for was artistic excellence, diversity of point of view, and the ability to ignite curiosity and provoke dialogue.”
Tickets for all the movies are $10 and are available at the Smithsonian Resident Associate Program’s Web site at www.Residentassociates.org.
