Montgomery school teachers, employees spared benefits cuts for now

The most recent proposal to cut benefits for Montgomery County teachers and school employees was rejected by the County Council, WAMU reports.

Last year, schools were granted waivers when budgets for other public sectors were being cut. MoCo educators and staff will face benefits cuts for the 2012 budget.

It's back to the drawing boards for the county as the schools, employees and council will need to come to an agreement by next week.
