Should the Washington Capitals fire Bruce Boudreau? (poll)

Sports fans in the Washington, D.C. area have waited nearly 20 years since celebrating a championship in one of the four major sports — sorry, Barra Brava, but the MLS is "major" in title alone — and if the Capitals don't fire head coach Bruce Boudreau soon, the wait might last another 20 years.

That's what SB Nation's Martin Shatzer thinks, anyway. "The window for the Washington Capitals to win a Stanley Cup is closing," he writes. "The players are getting older, and it will get harder and harder each year to fit all of the core players under the salary cap while still having enough money left over for quality role players."

It's true that the Capitals have underperformed in the playoffs during Boudreau's four-year tenure, but hey, at least they made the playoffs, right? The Redskins have only reached the postseason three times since winning the Super Bowl in 1992 — and as the Wild Card team each time. The Wizards and Nats aren't exactly inspiring much hope these days, either.

Which brings us to the obligatory online poll that, most likely, will result in a sample size too small to be even remotely illuminating. But hey, this is America, so who am I to deny you the right to vote?
