Alexandria waterfront redevelopment plan stalled until October
June 16, 2011 - 09:25 am
The Alexandria City Council has decided to delay its vote on a waterfront development proposal that would transform three miles of the Alexandria coastline.
The plan would add medium- and high-density housing, parkland, and hotels to the Potomac River. Critics of the plan say the quaint, small-town atmosphere would be destroyed by the development. The vote is now scheduled for October.
