Best place for a Hill staffer to live? Depends on your party
June 20, 2011 - 08:38 am
It happens once every four years: the National Journal interviews Hill staffers, and comes up with a comprehensive cross-section of the backbone of Congress.
The big news? If you want to know where a Hill staffer lies politically, just find out where he or she lives. Looking for Republican staffers? Just head to Northern Virginia, where a whopping 62 percent of Republicans call home. If you're in the District, you're more likely to see Obama stickers on the back of staffers' Prii (half of Dem staff members live in D.C.). However, no one wants to live in Maryland; 18 percent of Dems and just eight percent of Republicans call the state home.
