June 15, 2011 - 05:39 pm
The Environmental Protection Agency wants to better protect the environment so it is asking software developers to create Internet and smartphone applications that will ultimately focus on environmental issues. So developers are putting their best foot forward to come up with something innovative.
This fall, EPA experts will choose the best innovators based on “usefulness, innovation and ability to address the agency’s priorities.”
"I'm excited to see the innovations that professional software developers and high school students alike can create," said EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson.
Opportunities will be given to high school and college students. Submissions are due Sept. 16.
