The H Street streetcar project in Northeast, originally scheduled to be complete in 2012, won't finish until at least the fall of 2013, D.C. Department of Transportation spokesman John Lisle tells WTOP.
In the meantime, local businesses that have moved into the bustling area — which is nowhere near a Metro station — are struggling. "Some of them have told us 'The project is killing us,'" says Lisle.
The delays come has no real surprise. We've long forgotten what H Street looked like before the streets were gutted, so what's another two years?
Well, actually, it's another two years bumping along in the X2 bus just for some tater tots at Sticky Rice, that's what.
