Prince George's County offers illegal fireworks amnesty (video)
Now through July 20th, Prince George's County is offering full amnesty to anyone handing over illegal fireworks to the police. Under normal circumstances, the penalty for keeping fireworks is a $1,000 fine and/or six months in jail.
Simply call the Prince George's County Fire/EMS, and a member of the fire department will come to your house and safely remove the fireworks.
Is the county letting its amnesty program go too long? After all, most fireworks will be "disposed of" well before July 20th.
