Robert Marion McGuire charged with cutting head off family cat

A Dale City man was charged with animal cruelty after he admitted to decapitating his mother's cat, Inside Nova reports.
Police were called to investigate a disturbance when Robert Marion McGuire, a convicted sex offender, allegedly refused to leave his mother's house during a dispute. When the cops arrived, witnesses said that McGuire had cut the cat's head off. McGuire had a self-inflicted cut on his head, and was taken to a hospital before being arrested.
The charges against McGuire carry a sentence of up to five years in prison.
