Debt ceiling: Students write letter to Barack Obama (video)

- Dude, where's my debt-crisis solution?
For weeks now, our nation's highest elected officials have been working overtime to reach a deal that would prevent the U.S. from defaulting on its debt. You can assume President Obama understands the importance of finding a solution — that our economic stability, and his reelection, hang in the balance. But just to make sure, a bunch of annoying Georgetown students have sent him a letter reminding him that, you know, something needs to be done.
Members of the Georgetown University Students Association wrote the letter, and got more than 120 student leaders around the country to co-sign it. But what did this letter say, exactly? Vox Populi, the blog of the Georgetown Voice, reports:
Although the speakers acknowledged the economic calamity that would result from a failure to raise the debt ceiling, they did not offer any specific recommendations on how best to move forward to resolve our budget issues.
The White House's response was appropriately deafening.
