D.C. medical marijuana applicants include Montel Williams

For weeks now, D.C. media have been scrutinizing city records of those who've expressed interest in growing and distributing medical marijuana here, and the best anyone's come up with so far is M.I.A.'s tree-hugging fiancé, Benjamin Bronfman, who's out of the running already because he spaced on his paperwork. But now we have an applicant who can rightly be called famous: Montel Williams.
To some of you, he's that infomercial guy. To others, a former talk show host. Most relevantly, though, he's an MS sufferer who smokes pot on a daily basis. As the Post's Mike DeBonis reports, the nonprofit Abatin Wellness Center, of which Williams is the public face, "has expressed preliminary interest in opening medical marijuana businesses in the District."
Pot sells itself, but with Williams as a pitchman? Not even the feds could stop it.
