Mark Center cafeteria not large enough for employees
As if it's not bad enough that the thousands of Department of Defense employees moving into the new Mark Center in Alexandria might be stuck in massive gridlock every morning, now they might be waiting forever in the cafeteria line, too.
The DoD is urging its employees to brown-bag their lunches because the center's cafeteria only seats a few hundred; eventually, some 6,400 employees will move into the building. Worse still, the nearest restaurants aren't exactly affordable lunch options: Clyde's, Finn & Porter, and a sushi bar at the Hilton. No Chipotle or Cosi here, folks!
Around 2,200 workers are expected to move in on Sept. 15, and no one expects new restaurants in the area anytime soon. Suddenly, we're feeling pretty good about our options here in Rosslyn.
