D.C. shadow representative Mike Panetta will not seek reelection

Mike Panetta, D.C.'s shadow representative to Congress since 2007, won't seek a fourth term this spring, providing other aspiring politicians the opportunity to fight impossible fights while wielding no official power whatsoever. ”Three terms for an unpaid job is enough,” said Panetta, 40, told the Post's Mike DeBonis.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that part — the job doesn't pay, either. In other words, it's a glorified internship.

Thanks, but I'm still on the job until Jan. 2013!! @CharlesAllenDC: A very big thank you to @MikePanetta for his service to DC!
