We would normally define a horrible landlord as one who doesn't fix the water heater for days, forcing us to take cold showers, or who fails to shovel the sidewalk after a snowstorm. But those are minor complaints compared to this landlord.

The AP reports:

Wilmington police say a man has hit a tenant in the face with a sickle.

It happened Wednesday about 9:35 p.m. on East Fourth Street. Police say that the victim suffered facial injuries, but refused medical treatment.

Fifty-one-year-old John L. Carter 3rd has been charged with assault. He was released on $5,000 secured bail.

That's the sickle in the photo above. We cannot imagine someone approaching us with that weapon, let along hitting us in the face with it. But a commenter on the story, rather than sympathizing with the victim, saw a lesson for all tenants:

I guess he won't be late with the rent again. More landlords ought to do the same thing.
