Michaele Salahi kidnapped in Virginia, says Tareq Salahi, whom no one believes

It appears the Salahis have not yet moved to Beverly Hills, because Tareq Salahi is claiming his wife was abducted in Virginia yesterday, and that the Warren County Sheriff's Department isn't taking the case seriously enough. I'm not sure which is less surprising — that Tareq is saying his wife was kidnapped, or that someone isn't taking him seriously.

In a story besieged by ellipses, TMZ reports:

TMZ just spoke with Tareq ... who tells us he last saw Michaele at their home around 11 AM ET yesterday ... right before he left to go to their winery. Tareq says Michaele told him she was going to get her hair done -- but she never went to the appointment ... and she's been missing ever since.

Tareq claims he got a phone call from Michaele late last night ... from an unfamiliar Oregon cell phone number ... and she told him she was going to her mother's house, located minutes away from the Salahi home.

The WCSD reportedly told Tareq that they'd spoken with Michaele, and that she said she was fine and dealing with "family issues," but Tareq is convinced someone forced her to say that. In a statement, he included a "Salahi family" phone number — (540) 635-9933 — but it was busy when I called.

Yes, I actually called. Pray for my journalism sins, now and at the hour of the Salahis' departure from town.
