Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee brought torrential rains to the area, causing flooding and a sewage overflow in Prince George's County. In Delaware, it's bringing a sea of nastiness to two small towns.
Along with the usual trash — food wrappers, plastic bottles, beer cans — there are also used condoms, "female hygiene products," and medical waste washing ashore at Slaughter Beach and Broadkill Beach, WBOC reports. Without assistance, it could take weeks to clean up the mess, but who's going to volunteer to pick up syringes?
