University of Maryland to auction off football uniforms, helmets that everyone loved/hated

Your first thought when you saw those hotly debated Maryland uniforms probably wasn't, "Man, I gotta have one of those!" But if you did, or just want to own a piece of athletic/sartorial history, here's your chance. The University of Maryland announced today that it's auctioning off 10 jerseys and 10 helmets worn during the game.
The bidding, which will start at $200 for a jersey and $500 for a helmet, begins Friday morning on the team's website and ends Monday afternoon. If you do shell out hundreds for a helmet, bear in mind that you can't, for obvious reasons, position it on your shelf in the traditional manner. Not that it's something we recommend displaying in your home.
