Vince Young impersonator photo appeared in Examiner, which didn't know the difference

The Prince George's County man who's been impersonating NFL quarterback Vince Young has fooled more than just starry-eyed women in nightclubs and well-meaning donors at charity events. Apparently, the Examiner fell for his act, too.

On Sept. 11, the paper's Yeas & Nays section ran a brief post about local model Jana Sedlakova's birthday party at L2 Lounge in Georgetown. Among the attendees: boxer Riddick Bowe and one Vince Young. Except, as the accompanying photo shows, this man was not the Vince Young — the Philadelphia Eagles' backup QB, that is — if he was any Vince Young at all. Even a casual football fan can see that this man resembles, well, Bowe more than Young.

In a mea cupla yesterday, Nikki Schwab and Katy Adams wrote:

Before the real Vince Young came forward, we suspected that something fishy was going on when a man, again claiming to be Young, reached out to editors at the Washington Examiner early Monday morning asking that the posting and picture be removed from the website. When Yeas & Nays got in touch with him (he was using a number with an area code of 202, another red flag), he politely explained that the article was merely a 'conflict of interest' because he was supposed to collect a fee from another club that night and was in trouble for briefly stopping by L2. When we called back for follow-up, upon learning of the scam, the Cricket phone number was no longer in service.

Clearly, this guy's one of our finest method actors, given his dedication to remaining in character at all costs.
