Media Monday: Which paper had the blackest Friday?

Thanksgiving week has always been a notoriously slow one for media, but even more so in this digital age, with Internet traffic plummeting while people travel, hang out with their family, and otherwise spend their time offline. Last week was no exception, and as such, there was a paucity of news about local media. So I've decided to search the websites of D.C. media outlets for the phrase "Black Friday" in articles published in November. The winner won't surprise you.

(Several search engines — by not allowing users to sort articles by publication date, insisting on returning all results with "black" and "Friday," or being generally poor — made counting too tedious.)

Is the Post "quietly pushing out employees"? That's what the Post Guild claims, as Romenesko and Gawker note. Guild Unit co-chair Fredrick Kunkle writes that "the Washington Post has pushed out — or is trying to push out — at least thirteen people through layoffs, coerced buyouts or outright dismissal on dubious charges. What’s more troubling is that more than half of those employees are African-Americans or Latinos." According to Kunkle, "the people targeted so far have included veteran journalists with years of distinguished service," and that "some allegations of poor performance ... have included highly subjective and weaselly criticisms such as inserting too many pop culture references in stories." I assume that none of these former employees wrote for the Style section, which seems to require exactly the opposite — forcing pop-culture references where they're not needed.
